About Me
I have a passion for turning ideas into reality. Much of my experience in the field of Events & Entertainment is rooted in working with small artists and businesses to identify and execute action items that carry ideas to fruition. Every event is an opportunity to make a positive impact on community, and I love supporting projects that contribute to the growth of independent artists and small businesses. My working style is straightforward, transparent, and adaptable to a variety of environments. With an underlying focus on social change and a penchant for community building, I offer my expertise as an Event Planner and Creative Project Manager worldwide. I believe in living for change, and the events & entertainment industry is where I apply that belief.
My Background
In 2007 I founded the annual AMDEF Exposition, an interdisciplinary event featuring collaborations between the Art, Music, Dance, Entertainment and Fashion Communities. Every year, I carefully sourced and partnered talents and entertainers from different creative backgrounds. Often, these talents had no prior experience working together and came from completely different genres, and the anti-typical partnerships made for a uniquely diverse and multi-faceted display of entertainment.
AMDEF served as a platform for new and emerging artists to present their upcoming projects while expanding relationships between various creative communities. Every Act was a one-of-a-kind showcase, complied each year to create over 6 hours of non-stop show time. The Event continued for a decade, annually featuring over 200 participating talents to audiences of 300-500+. In 2014, my contributions through AMDEF lead Social Outreach Seattle to award me their Community Partner of the Year.
This was the flagship event of Active Entertainment, which I founded and operated from 2007-2020. As the President of Active Entertainment, I created and produced over 400 events. These events included Performers Anonymous, a variety show dedicated to creating a platform for Performing Artists and solo acts, as well as Art on the Rocks, a monthly art exhibit during Pioneer Square Art Walk serving as a salespoint for local Artists. I also hosted private events, high-end fashion shows, theme parties, concerts, and dozens of independent projects for Artists I’d met along the way.
In 2009, I founded Chance Fashion, which eventually became the longest running monthly fashion show in the country. Recognizing the need for inclusion in the Fashion Industry, I created a model for a monthly fashion show that welcomed any and all participants, regardless of experience, size, gender or creative orientation. Chance provided countless opportunities to an underserved community of aspiring fashion talents that were so commonly excluded from the art of fashion. In 2013, Chance was established as a 501c3, after which I continued to serve as President until 2018.
My Independent Projects and Client Projects have taken me to San Francisco, Portland, Pittsburgh, New York City and Los Angeles, where I have continued relationships with a variety of resources. Throughout these experiences, I cultivated, supported, and grew the concepts of countless individuals. By 2016, I was producing roughly 50 events a year while also working on a variety of creative projects as they came up. As a side-job, I consistently picked up work as an Event Staff or Brand Ambassador, which further exposed me to working conventions, sporting events, grand openings, product release parties, promotional campaigns, and other assorted corporate projects.

"You cannot teach someone to be dedicated, committed, or professional. I know when I look for people to hire, I don’t mind teaching them the job, but I know I cannot teach them character. With Ryan you do not have to worry about that."
